Toastmasters—and District 25 in particular—has lost an outstanding Toastmaster: a dedicated member, writer, speech contestant, and more. He joined Toastmasters on 11/1/2005. At the onset of his health challenges, he belonged to the following clubs: Highway to Excellence, Southlake Club, and Out on the Town.
We remember his generous spirit and the intentional way he recognized those who supported him along the way. He was a strong advocate for Toastmasters and the benefits it offers. Notably, he was selected to participate in the USA Today Project, an honor that reflected his character. He took great pride in that recognition and in the speech associated with it.
From his February 2021 article, Everyone Has a Story:
“Let’s utilize the power of our voice and experience firsthand how a story can change a life. After all, everyone has a story to tell. Stories show us who we were, who we are, and who we can become.”
Ankur shared his stories with us; it is now our responsibility to carry that legacy forward.
From Chuck Mencke:
From the first time we met at Highway to Excellence, Ankur made a lasting impression. After the meeting, he approached me and said, with characteristic confidence, “You are now my mentor and guru.” In the months and years that followed, he often sought my feedback on projects he was considering, and I was also glad to assist him with his Zoom setups. I consider myself fortunate to have crossed paths with someone I will never forget. Ankur was among the kindest and most gentle individuals I have known. He greeted others with a warm, memorable smile, and whenever he arrived at a Toastmasters meeting, he made a point of coming over to shake hands and say hello. He even dedicated one of his speeches to me, Jar of Abundance. I was honored and deeply humbled.
