Amarillo Coffee Weekenders has some exciting activity going on with their push towards membership growth and DCP goals! They recently held an Open House Speak-a-thon on January 31st and also added three new members to the club! This club meets on the 2ndand 4th Saturdays, and for any 5th Saturday of the month, there’s a Speak-a-thon! They also hosted a Valentines Day Party on February 14th with refreshments featuring hearts, pink, red, and sweets! Furthermore, in looking at those DCP goals, the club is holding a Pathways Workshop on February 28th where members are invited to bring their laptops and go through Pathways Base Camp together to ensure each member is getting Pathways credit and feels comfortable navigating Base Camp!
Also let’s give a shout out to Amarillo Toastmasters #211, the oldest club in Texas – as they have added nine more members since July first! Along with them, another shout-out to Odessa Club, who has also added seven members since July 1st! Overall, Area 71 has added 11 more members, Area 72 12 more members, Area 73 added 19 more members, and Area 74 three new members, for a grand total of 45 new members! Division G is GROWING!
In other exciting news, Division G kicked off the Contest Season with three of our four contests occurring February 7th and 8th! We had a great turnout in Midland, Lubbock, and Amarillo, including a huge support from Fort Worth visitors! Area Director, Brenda Lentz, along with her Contest Chair, Carter Duke, and Contest Toastmaster, Rebecca Pontaski, put on an incredible Area Contest to start us off in Midland-Odessa, and it was a fun and memorable event! Area Director Kim Davis and her Toastmaster, Jan Grams, also hosted a great Contest, and we all had a fun time meeting with our Lubbock club members in person and cheering on contestants! Amarillo Clubs had their first chance to meet their Area Director, Yujun Liang, in person and were so excited to have him visit and host the contest! Yujun’s Contest Team included Contest Co-Chairs Sara Orr and Danny Parrot, and Toastmaster, Sara Adamchak. The Contest was so much fun and attended by members representing each of the five Amarillo clubs! Shout out to EVERYONE who attended, helped, and supported these Contests! Now we are ready to cheer on Area 74 Director Chris Sunderman for his Area Contest on February 28th! Preparation for Division G Contest on March 28th in Lubbock has already started, and we invite everyone to come out and support our contestants!
