by Jesse Ford DTM District Director
Today I paused and was thinking again about how leadership is not about the easy wins or the smooth paths. It’s about perseverance, resilience, and the unwavering belief that we can achieve greatness—even when the journey feels long, and the obstacles seem insurmountable.
Every challenge we face is a test of our strength, vision, and determination. There will be times when progress feels slow, when setbacks knock us down, or when doubt creeps in. But I know this to be true—each step forward, no matter how small, brings us closer to the goal. They don’t call them “growing pains” for nothing. Every difficulty you encounter is an opportunity to learn, of course grow, and evolve into an even stronger leader.
Now some people will tell you it is not about perfection; it’s about progress. And in those moments when it feels like you’re carrying the weight of the world, don’t forget that you’re not alone. As leaders, we are all in this together, bound by a common purpose. Lean on each other. Draw strength from the collective energy and shared vision we have. If your club can be distinguished so can your area, if your area can then so can your division and if your division can…well then why not the district.
In the end we know there will be times when the finish line seems distant, but that is precisely when leadership is needed most. It’s in these moments that courage, passion, and commitment will inspire everyone around to keep pushing toward their goals. Don’t give up. It’s not June 30th yet.
In the end we know everyone has been doing their part—Don’t give up now. We are less than 100 days away from the end of our Centennial Year.
Keep your head up. Keep fighting. Keep leading with heart and purpose. We can do this if we do it together. Let’s make this the year our district is DISTINGUISHED.
Here we GROW!
