By District Director, Jesse Ford, DTM
People often say, “it’s the quiet ones you have to worry about.” But wait…we are Toastmasters! Nobody is quiet in Toastmasters, right? Well, maybe not quiet around everyone; she is definitely a voice in the leadership team. This leader takes care of minutes for all district business, helps with District Council meetings, and then recites the district mission to inspire all. But really, in the end, she just helps everyone with anything and everything. Congratulations to Patty Wyatt, this month’s outstanding leader.
Now when I say she helps with anything and everything, I mean it – recently, Patty has been a key player in helping with all the scripts for our upcoming Summit. Patty has stepped up and provided an extra set of eyes to help ensure we are using correct grammar, verb tenses and overall making our speaking parts at events sound simply amazing. Ya’ll should be glad she does because she makes us sound gooder. Okay … In all seriousness, Patty does all this and more. She also leads the committee to officially document all important business to ensures we have all the proper records.
Thank you, Patty, for being an amazing example of leading and doing so with humility, grace and overall, just making everyone feel good while doing it. Now make no mistake. She really isn’t quiet at all… Patty was our 2020/21 District Speech contest winner with her speech “Hello Gorgeous.” Congratulations again to you Patty as this month’s Outstanding Leader. You GROW Girl!
