It is time to RENEW! The youngest of my children has started her senior year in high school. She is excited about this year’s new experiences, enjoying time with her current friends and making new ones. She is also enthusiastic about all the regular activities that are familiar, yet different this time around. She is taking the core classes like English, Math, and Science. Subjects she has studied most of the last twelve years, yet they will be different. In English, she will cover British Lit; in math, it will be Pre-Calculus; and in Science, Physics.
As I guide my daughter through her year of learning and growth, I can’t help but feel the same excitement for my upcoming year in Toastmasters. What path will I complete, and which new ones will I embark on? What skills will I hone, and which club roles will help me achieve my goals? Will I take up a leadership role in my club? Is there someone I can mentor, or a mentor I can seek? The possibilities for growth, friendship, storytelling, and fun in this Toastmasters year are endless. I’m eager to renew my membership and continue my journey.
