Are you joining me in Walking in Sunshine at the YEC? No, not yuck. YEC. It’s D25’s annual Year End Celebration (YEC) for the 2023-2024 Toastmaster year.
While basking in the sun and planning the YEC, I’ve learned many things including learning awards and incentives, scouting event locations, and learning how district funding works.
Wait, funding, you mean there is a budget?
Yikes!!! I did not realize that the YEC is considered a “ways and means” event. Now the pressure to have the brightest event is even hotter.
D25 members, catching the rays can be done in several ways. The best way to support YEC is to attend the celebration. This year it is on Saturday, August 24, 2024, 6:00 pm at Ridglea Country Club in Fort Worth, TX. Early bird tickets NOW, and they are available until July 21st. Regular registration begins on July 22nd, and it runs through August 18th.
From the registration page, there are other opportunities in which to support YEC.
Congratulatory Messages are a perfect way to recognize a special Toastmaster. Maybe it’s someone who introduced you to Toastmasters or someone who went out of their way to help your club. You can purchase a Congratulatory Message for only $20, and it will be included in the evening’s program.
We’re having a quilt raffle, YAY! Enter for a chance to win a beautiful quilt made by our IPDD Emily Murray. Emily makes the most beautiful quilts, and this year she has outdone herself. Raffle tickets can be purchased from the registration page. They are $5 each or 5 tickets for only $20. When you arrive at the YEC, your tickets will be in your registration packet. Let’s sneak a peek at part of the quilt she is making …
Bring your sunglasses, wear your shiniest outfit, and make this the hottest event of the summer!
