by Michelle Bayes DTM Club Growth Director
Take a moment if you will and recite the district mission with me, ‘We build new clubs, and support ALL clubs in achieving excellence.” These eleven words pack a very powerful message, and some of the foundational building blocks to achieve the mission sit under the umbrella of Club Growth.
You may be saying, “Cool, how do I get involved?” Below are just a few ways
-
-
- Give your time/talent to a demo meeting team! Volunteer to be a demo meeting speaker or Toastmaster and knock out a few pathways’ requirements along the way. Learn more by connecting with our club extension chair, Genea Tucker, at extension_chair@d25toastmasters.org
- Share a hot tip of where we might charter a new club! Remember that first half of the mission [Hint: We build new clubs]. Unfortunately, I have not been given any pixie dust to create new clubs, so your tips are essential in helping us decide where to target. Share those tips with our club leads co-chairs, Claryce Cook and Nansii Downer, at leads_chair@d25toastmasters.org
- Mentoring a new club! Club mentors help lay the foundation for a newly chartered club to springboard to success, providing guidance that helps newly minted Toastmasters clubs navigate new decisions, overcome doubt, and seize opportunities that might otherwise go unnoticed. It’s also a nugget toward your DTM. Join our new club mentor chair, Cindy Hinckley, at her monthly mentor open forum on the 4th Wed of the month from 6:30 to 7:30 – for more information connect at club_mentor_chair@d25toastmasters.org
- Resurrect a struggling club through coaching! Coaches help struggling clubs refine skills, strengthen discipline, and build confidence through targeted feedback and encouragement. It, too, is also a little nugget toward your DTM. Like the mentors our club retention chair, Karen Shadden, is launching a coaches open forum beginning Wed Jan 28th and continuing on the 4th Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:30. For more information connect at retention_chair@d25toastmasters.org
