By Michelle Debenport PR Chair Year End Celebration
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work:
My first task as PR Chair for the Year-End Celebration (YEC) has been recruiting passionate, enthusiastic individuals to join our team (shout out to Allan Pickering, Liz Brenner, Steven Offutt, Bob Beideck, and Jenall Gold). By combining our diverse skills and interests, we can create the most impactful event and strengthen our community. As the saying goes, “many hands make light work.”
What the Team Does:
Creating Engaging Content:
Our team uses their skills and interests to create compelling social media posts, eye-catching flyers, and informative emails and newsletter articles. Each piece is designed to align with our district’s voice and generate excitement about our event.
Coordinating with the Event Team:
As PR Chair, I work hand-in-hand with the event planning team to ensure our promotions highlight key event details like the Shiniest Outfit Contest and the Quilt Raffle. By coordinating everything, we aim to make the event run smoothly and promote it effectively.
Building Community Engagement:
Our PR team communicates online with our members, answering questions and sharing updates to build anticipation. Through this, we strive to build a strong community connection and encourage everyone to spread the word.
Tracking and Improving:
As PR Chair, I monitor engagement metrics and collect feedback to learn what works best and maximize our reach.
Why You Should Join a PR Committee:
Joining a PR committee is a perfect opportunity to try new things and step out of your comfort zone! As we know, Toastmasters is a safe and supportive place to learn and grow. A PR team is an excellent place to learn about marketing, communication, and event planning. It’s a great way to meet new people and contribute to the success of our events.
