by Jesse Ford DTM District Director
The famous basketball player Michael Jordan once said, “Some people want it to happen, some people wish it would happen, others make it happen.” It’s a profound and simple thought, but it struck me as I was thinking about the members in our district. In Toastmasters there is a phenomenon known as “helium hand” wherein it seems that whenever somebody asks for volunteers or for something to get done, Toastmasters always raise their hands to say “Yes, I will do it.” It’s what makes us amazing, and this next Toastmaster sets a bar so high sometimes it’s hard to believe he can keep going and going and going. Congratulations to the November Outstanding Member of the Month, our 2024 Summit Facilities Chair Alex Conrad. Alex, on behalf of the district and all its, members we say thank you for all your hard work leading up to and including the summit weekend.
Now wait…You may be asking, what all did he do? Maybe you don’t think it would be that hard. Well Alex showed up the day before the event and spent over nine hours helping set up the main room, and he then was back again early the next morning. He was available all day, and then he helped to tear the event down Saturday night. He stayed late, almost three hours after the event ended, helping the AV team get packed up. He did everything and anything he could to always put his best D25 foot forward.
Thank you again, Alex, for all your hard work. You model the can-do attitude, and you have helped us all Level Up, whether we knew it or not. Congratulations Alex Conrad for being the Outstanding member for November. Here we GROW!!!!!!!
