District Director Shuhdi Hashim stands at the helm of Division F, steering the ship with a wealth of experience gained since joining Toastmasters in July 2017 as a charter member of Smiling Stars Toastmasters. His journey has been marked by diverse club roles, including President, VPE, VPM, Secretary, Treasurer, and SAA, showcasing his commitment to personal and professional growth within the organization.
Having previously served as an Area Director, Shuhdi understands the dynamics of hands-on club engagement. In his current role as Division Director, he takes a step back to guide and support Area Directors, sharing insights gained from his own experiences to facilitate their journey.
Through the transition from Area to Division Director, Shuhdi gained an all-inclusive view of the district’s goals and how each element fits into the larger puzzle. This broader perspective has provided him with valuable insights that he passes on to his team, ensuring a more rounded approach to achieving success.
Embracing challenges as opportunities for growth, Shuhdi acknowledges the varying degrees of experience among his team and uses this diversity as a catalyst for personal and collective development. Division F is represented by a diverse range of clubs, including community and corporate, hybrid and in-person, as well as new and seasoned clubs. Shuhdi’s leadership aims to accommodate these differences and create an inclusive environment that caters to the needs of each club.
As the year progresses, Shuhdi measures success not only by the vibrancy of the clubs but also by the positive impact on Area Directors and their engagement in district events. His ultimate goal is to leave a lasting legacy, inspiring confidence, networking, and a sense of service among Toastmasters.
