With D25’s 2026 Superpowers for Success conference just around the corner, it’s an honor to serve as this year’s First Timer’s Chair. I was a first timer myself last year, and I still remember feeling excited, curious, and just a little unsure of what to expect. The energy at the First Timer’s Reception was electric. I had a blast meeting members there and throughout the conference. Those introductions grew into real friendships and connections that continued at Toastmasters events throughout the year.
That is something that I’d love to pass on to this year’s first timers: camaraderie, friendship, and inspiration from the very start. The Conference Planning Committee has been working diligently behind the scenes to create a memorable conference, from highly sought-after keynote speakers to super insightful educational sessions, and so much more! One of my favorite things is watching the speakers come alive during their speeches, it’s like live theater! I wish I could attend all of the educational sessions; they are all so interesting!
The heart of Toastmasters is the community itself, the people who encourage, support, and help us grow into the leaders we are becoming. We are learning and growing together as a community, sharing lessons learned, and celebrating the progress of our members.
If this is your first conference, you’re in for a treat. I hope you feel welcomed, encouraged, and inspired from the moment you arrive. I hope you leave with new connections, fresh inspiration, and a reminder that your voice is powerful, your presence matters, and your superpowers can take you further than you imagine.
