December officially marks the beginning of Contest Season in District 25! While many are wrapping up the year, clubs across the District are gearing up for one of the most exciting parts of the Toastmasters experience – Speech Contests.
Contests begin at the Club level, progress to Area, then Division, and finally advance to the District stage, where the winners of the International Speech Contest move on to compete beyond the District.
2025–2026 District 25 Contests
This year, District 25 will conduct the following two contests:

- International Speech Contest
- Humorous Speech Contest

Club Contests
Clubs have the flexibility to run their contests in the format that works best:

- Virtual, in-person, or hybrid settings are all allowed.
- Clubs may hold both contests together or schedule them separately.
- All contests must follow the rules in the 2025–2026 Speech Contest Rulebook.
- Whether your club holds a contest or uses another selection method, please submit the Notification of Contest Winners form to your Area Director (available in D25 Contest Resources).

Club contests are a fun and energizing event that encourage member participation, leadership, and speaking growth. If your club hasn’t yet selected a contest date or Contest Chair, now is the perfect time!
Area and Division Contests
District 25 will once again hold all Area and Division contests in person for the 2025–2026 season.

- Area Contests will run February 5 – March 21, 2026.
- Division Contests will run March 28 – April 25, 2026.

Please encourage your competing members to prepare early and take advantage of club feedback, coaching sessions, and practice opportunities.
