IT Leaders and Speakers of Tomorrow Toastmasters Club #1483991 Open House
We had a fantastic, festive meeting full of laughter, learning, and creativity. Everyone joined in the spirit of Halloween with themed Zoom backgrounds and spooky fun during Table Topics! 👻🎭
Here’s our meeting recap:
✨ Highlight:
A huge thank-you to Yujun Liang for sharing his inspiring story and thoughtful insights during the Q&A session. He motivated us to learn more, do more, and become more! 💪
🎤 Guest Speech:
“Connect with Stories — How to Use LinkedIn to Have an Impact and Lead with Purpose” by Yujun Liang
Yujun opened with a vivid story: while walking his dog, a yellow Lamborghini pulled up beside him. To his relief, the driver didn’t pull out a gun—but an iPhone for a selfie! 📱
That man turned out to be a CEO and one of Yujun’s 90,000+ LinkedIn followers.
From just 900 followers in 2016 to over 91,000 today, Yujun shared how consistency, authenticity, and storytelling helped him grow his influence and inspire others to pursue cloud certifications.
He also reminded us that leadership isn’t about position—it’s about purpose, presence, and courage. 🌟
🗣️ Table Topics Highlights:
Our Table Topics Master, Tuc, led a fun and spooky Halloween session that got everyone laughing and thinking creatively:
- 👻 Devayani said she’d haunt her husband to make sure he kept doing the chores even after she became a ghost.
- 🎬 Thim reflected on an Asian horror film that explored morality and humanity.
- 🍬 Kris wished for his kids to have a big, safe candy haul—with a few healthy snacks mixed in!
It was a night full of joy, connection, and inspiration — truly a “spooktacular” celebration of Toastmasters spirit! 🎃
I’ve attached some screenshots from our meeting to share the fun!

Golden Triangle Toastmasters Club #5297 Open House
Golden Triangle Toastmasters brewed up a frightfully fun Toast or Treat meeting that had members howling with laughter! Our Halloween-themed gathering featured a costumed Toastmaster, spooky speeches, and table topics that tested our members’ impromptu speaking skills , with a side of eerie imagination.
From ghosts and goblins to ghoulish giggles, the energy was infectious! Members dressed up, played along with the theme, and brought their best “boo” game. The highlight of the day? A surprise visit from the scariest guest of them all — The Donald!
Between the creativity, costumes, and camaraderie, this meeting was proof that public speaking doesn’t have to be scary… unless it’s Halloween at Golden Triangle Toastmasters!

Southlake Club #4987 Open House, Charterversary, Golden Gavel
Southlake Club was celebrating 29 years on the 29th of September! Members and guests were invited to come early for breakfast, coffee, juice and water, all arranged on a beautiful, accessible table. The room was set up in perfect Toastmaster fashion and decorated with balloons with the number “29” Nametags for all members were layed out and extra name tags for guests were available. Everything was accessible and easy and guests felt welcomed and comfortable with all of them invited to introduce themselves and make comments at the end of the meeting. The Presiding Officer, President Jamie English, called the meeting to order at 7:00am sharp. Acknowledgements of 1st quarter level completitions were passed out on a “Shout-Out Southlake Club” sheet. Every attendee had an agenda (with 0 changes/substitutions) and a ballot. The Toastmaster, Jacquelyn Martin, did an incredible job with “Changing Hats” in sync with the theme of the day, Toastmasters 201. We enjoyed three inspiring speakers and three dynamic evaluations! Table Topics Master, Karen Phelps, called on attendees not already on the agenda with open ended questions related to the “Toastmasters 201” theme. All transitions were smooth and seamless. At the conclusion of this powerful meeting, Jamie English adjourned the meeting and many/most people stayed around for conversation and snacks. It was the kind of meeting that contained the type of content that inspired and motivated both members and guests! Fabulous!
