One of Jamie’s favorite things to experience is witnessing that spark of joy when an individual has that “ah-ha” moment or accomplishes something that they did not think they could do. Years ago, she did not understand that she had it within her to speak publicly, to lead large teams, or transform lives for the better. As it turns out, she is quite capable of leading an organization of 3,000 members.
Jamie has attained the highest educational level in Toastmasters, Distinguished Toastmaster, three times over, and has held the highest Leadership roles in the district, including District Director 2019-2020. Because of this experience, she is excellently equipped to speak on setting and accomplishing goals, leadership development, and motivational strategies.
Jamie holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas Wesleyan University with a focus on Sound Design/Sound Engineering and a Bachelor of Science from Texas Women’s University with a focus on Computer Science. At first blush, these seem like two opposite ends of the spectrum but Jamie has learned they are, in fact, quite close. Just ask her how.
She has spent the last 20 years in IT earning her way from an individual contributor to a leader of several individual contributors. Today, she is an IT manager of a team that supports the back-end systems of a financial company in Fort Worth.
Jamie draws her strength from helping others accomplish their goals – especially when they did not think they could do it. She is ecstatic to be a part of that process no matter how large or small a part she may play in it.
