by Jesse Ford DTM District Director
Every year in May, District 25 puts on an amazing conference. Somehow the events always seem to get better and better. This year, we had some HUGE wins – like welcoming over 40 first-time attendees! We also tried a new venue after being at the Solana for the past five years. And to top it off, we were able to host the most VIP of all VIP’s – Immediate Past International President, Morag Mathieson DTM. From the initial planning stages to the final applause, the weekend was filled with vision, inspiration, and passion and the event was a great success.
But who led the team? Insert this year’s Conference Chair Extraordinaire Kelly Pelkey, DTM. With her amazing ability to lead a diverse team of volunteers, Kelly demonstrated not only strong leadership skills but also how truly possible it is to make things happen. Simply put, Kelly made sure we had the teamwork to make the dream work.
Thank you so much Kelly for your countless hours spent with scripts, calls to talk through details, and for your willingness to push forward with a “we can do it” attitude. The district is better when we have members step up and do more. Now I also want to say a very special and personal thank you to Kelly. Kelly was in fact my first officially assigned mentor when I initially joined in 2018. Kelly, it is because of members like you that I was able to grow into the leader I am now. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me – and even more, thank you for now sharing it with the entire District. Congratulations to Kelly Pelkey, the Queen VIP and the May Outstanding Member of the Month.
