by Jesse Ford DTM District Director
An Wang a Chinese American computer engineer and inventor said, “You have to have your heart in the business and the business in your heart.” In District 25 we have a long-standing legacy of developing great leaders who do and get others to do some truly amazing things. I have been the benefactor of several leaders in our district family all of who I know spent their time, their effort, and gave so much to me that there is no way I would be here if they hadn’t. Now it’s true that we have all these amazing leaders but what happens to them? Do they ever stop leading? Do they ever “get a break”? Can they ever be a regular member again?
Well, let me take a minute and tell you about one such leader. This leader has been a club officer more times than I have fingers and toes, has been a Division Governor, an Area Governor, District Contest Quality Chair, Chief Judge, Program Quality Director and even District Director. Even though this leader has done all these things and earned the right to sit on the couch, you know what truly is amazing? This district leader keeps serving. I know sounds crazy, right? Today, this district leader has stepped back in and currently is helping the TLI team, stepped in to be an officer role facilitator, and as if that were not enough, he is now currently helping the contest team and District Chief Judge roll up their sleeves and doing even more. Congratulations Greg Pick, DTM and PDD; you are January’s Outstanding member. In the words of your focus “It’s Your Journey” and boy, are we glad you’re taking us all along for the ride. Way to GROW!
