After two and a half years in Toastmasters, I was thrilled to hear an announcement about my home club, Afterburners Toastmasters, at the 2021 Annual Conference. The theme, “Super Powers”, immediately grabbed my attention—how could it not? I was intrigued and eager to experience the magic of the conference firsthand. Filled with excitement and anticipation for what lay ahead, I purchased tickets for my husband and me without hesitation.
The weekend kicked off with a bang Friday night. The room was alive with energy as members gathered to embark on this unforgettable journey together. A special session for first-timers set the tone, giving us a sneak peek into the exciting events planned for the weekend. The “Super Powers” theme was brought to life through dazzling decorations that added an extra spark to the atmosphere.
Saturday evening was nothing short of magical. We dressed up for a formal affair, escorted by our significant others, and enjoyed a delicious meal while witnessing the prestigious Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) ceremony. Every keynote speaker throughout the weekend delivered inspiring messages that left us motivated and ready to take on new challenges.
