by Clark Pfarner Division C Director
On January 26th, our District Executive Committee (DEC) gathered for a productive and engaging meeting—this time via Zoom instead of in person. While DEC is officially billed as “training” for division and area directors, it’s just as much about team building and strengthening our leadership connections.
Key Highlights:
-
-
- Contest Season Is Here! With the Toastmasters contest season approaching, discussions centered on preparation, logistics, and support for clubs and contestants.
- Judges Training was emphasized as a critical component to ensure fair and high-quality competitions.
- Planning for TLI took center stage, as leaders collaborated on organizing a valuable training experience for club officers.
- Working Lunch Breakouts allowed each of our six divisions to strategize with their area directors, fostering teamwork in smaller, focused groups.
- The Business Meeting was brief but efficient, keeping things on track without unnecessary delays.
- Division Director Reports provided both insight and entertainment — staying true to their tradition of being informative yet humorously delivered.
-
While the format was virtual, the energy and camaraderie remained strong. DEC meetings continue to be more than just training sessions—they’re about growing together as leaders and making an impact across our district.
