January 27th-28th, 2024 marked my first-ever experience attending the Mid-Year International Trio Training in Dallas, catering to regions 3, 5, 7, 8, and 9. Unsure of what to anticipate, these two days unfolded into a heartwarming journey, where I found myself among familiar faces from the Bahamas and formed connections with new peers.
The Dallas/Addison Marriott Quorum at the Galleria served as the backdrop for a well-organized, successful event. We were well fed, given unlimited coffee, and plenty of water. The training sessions were presented with engaging role-playing, immersive team building, and genuine camaraderie that left a lasting impression.
Being trained at some of the sessions by our region advisor, Wafae Owens, was an honor, and the moments of unity during shared meals and training sessions strengthened the bonds within the Trio and new and old peers. A notable highlight was the opportunity to capture a photo with the International CEO, Daniel Rex, alongside my Club Growth Director peer from Atlanta, GA.
My biggest takeaway was participating in the final session where the Trio collectively answered questions that showcased the significance of coordinated minds crafting a cohesive plan. The occasional check-ins from Emily and Jesse making sure that I was okay throughout the training added a personal touch, nurturing a sense of care and connection.
As I move forward in my role as Club Growth Director, these moments leave me flabbergasted, not only as a Toastmaster but as a member of a Trio contributing to the success of District 25. Together as a district let’s keep ‘Sharing Our Sunshine’!
