by Denise McConnell DTM Division A Director
As we approach the end of our 2023 – 2024 Toastmasters year, I am working with the area directors to help our clubs finish strong. We want every member to get full credit for all their speeches as they progress through their paths. We are attending open houses and seeing our clubs grow their membership, which in turn helps the club achieve distinguished status. We encourage our clubs to make their open house a Golden Gavel meeting. These are among the many opportunities for the growth of members, clubs, areas, divisions, and the district.
This year, I have grown in my ability to lead with compassion, to make space for each person’s strengths, and to help fill the gaps in our weaknesses while learning from each other. Being a Division Director has allowed me to raise and encourage my team to grow their leadership skills. We have grown individually and as a team. We have learned to support our clubs in achieving their goals. We are collaborating with the clubs to help the members get out of Toastmasters all they have put into Toastmasters. I have enjoyed working with my four area directors to create a successful year for Division A.
