by Samantha Watt District Contest Coordinator
As the contest season began for District 25, I found myself brimming with excitement! We had an exceptional first contest on Saturday, February 3rd, hosted by our very own Area 64 Director Quran Anderson. Having engaged in numerous one-on-one training sessions with Area Directors and Contest Chairs, along with the five virtual contest group training sessions we’ve had, I was enthused about witnessing the incredible talent that would grace the stage during this exciting season. These personalized trainings have provided valuable insights into the meticulous planning and dedication that goes into organizing these events, reinforcing my confidence in the upcoming contests.
For those eager to participate or spectate, it could not be easier to learn about the contests and the schedule via our Contest Resources page on the D25 website. The comprehensive details are readily available on both the events section and the contest resources sections. The Area Directors and Contest Chairs would love for you to reach out to them to participate in helper roles – just ask! We need timers, sergeants-at-arms, ballot counters, and more.
As we embark on this contest season, I am particularly thrilled about witnessing the growth and prowess of my fellow Toastmasters. The contests serve as a platform for honing communication and leadership skills, pushing boundaries, and fostering a spirit of healthy competition – not just for the amazing contestants but also for all the helpers who make the event happen. The camaraderie that emerges from these experiences is truly inspiring. With each contest, we not only celebrate individual achievements but also collectively contribute to the vibrant tapestry of our Toastmasters journey. Here’s to the exhilarating contests ahead, where we will undoubtedly witness the brilliance and eloquence that define District 25’s exceptional members.
