Our October Outstanding Member of the Month has her fingers in many pies, but you might not know it. She prefers to get in and get done instead of shouting for the spotlight, and yet if you know her, you probably think she’s amazing.
Tammy Kasterke 100% exemplifies this year’s Share Your Sunshine focus. She constantly works to help others upskill and supports them in trying new things. She creates excitement and momentum in every role she holds. And she always ensures that those around her grow as well. She knows well the value in leading a team isn’t in doing the work yourself, but in helping your team members become effective and confident, setting them up for future successes and leadership.
As this year’s Youth Leadership Chair, Tammy is creating many connections and creatively sourcing opportunities for Youth Leadership workshops. She doesn’t just lead those workshops herself; she mentors others on how to lead them successfully and encourages others to take on the responsibilities and therefore the achievements. The team she leads is achieving tremendous success and receiving rave reviews.
Tammy is a creative force to be reckoned with. She supports those on her team wholeheartedly, not just those on her team, but anyone aspiring to lead a YLP, offering unwavering support and guidance throughout the entire journey. She believes in the power of the Youth Leadership Program and the impact it can have on the youth in our communities. She knows through experience the value of the program to those aiming to complete their DTMs. She’s readily available and easy to talk to and will always help you further along your path to greatness.
But she’s so much more than just an amazing YLP chair, she’s happy to help guide, train, and mentor amazing people using her previous experience in a variety of roles. And it’s that willingness to grow others while growing herself that makes her this month’s Outstanding Member of the Month.
