The month of October was definitely THE month for open houses. A huge shout-out to you, District 25, for all your hard work and your willingness to be creative and allow your club members an opportunity to have some unconditional fun. The camaraderie of club members inviting guests has been phenomenal. Open houses play a significant role in providing room for non-Toastmasters to become official Toastmasters. We’ve had a total of nine open houses within D25 in October!
Choosing a winner for the month was not an easy task, however, after carefully deciding, I award the Open House winner to Tarrant County Toastmasters who hosted a hybrid meeting on October 17th with the theme “Harvesting Success with Toastmasters.” This meeting was fun and well-organized. Club Coach, Donna Young, DTM kicked off the meeting with inspiring words to greet the members and visiting guests. Toastmaster of the Day, Bill Erwin guided guests and members with additional inspiration and education on the components of a Toastmasters meeting.
Our two inspiring D25 speakers, Chuck Mencke, DTM, and Andrea Payne delivered truly remarkable speeches that captivated the audience. The Table Topics segment, skillfully hosted by D.J. Reed added a creative and enjoyable dimension to the meeting. Insightful evaluations were provided by the Club’s President, Phylliss Christian Daniels, DTM and Area Director Jenny Riddle. Thanks to one of the pioneer members, Belinda Gonzalez Hampton, who helped promote the open house by engaging 12 non-Toastmaster visitors. To enhance the experience for in-person guests, sign-in sheets and valuable Toastmasters information were thoughtfully provided.
The decorations were beautiful and the after party that consisted of an array of scrumptious food made the open house complete. It was truly a day to remember that yielded positive feedback from both guests and members. Club Growth Director, Phylliss Christian-Daniels, DTM closed the session with words of encouragement and additional thoughts to inspire visitors to learn more about Toastmasters, and members to continue pursuing their Toastmasters journey. Four of the guests have regularly been attending meetings. Job Well Done Tarrant County Toastmasters!
