by Bob Beideck, DTM
My name is Bob Beideck and I am the DTM Advisor for this Toastmasters year. In December, I proudly achieved my Pathways DTM, and now, I’m here to help illuminate the path to your own Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM) award.
Have you ever wondered what it takes to get your DTM award? Or needed support meeting one or more of the requirements?
As DTM Advisor, I am here to help people on their journey to DTM by offering educational sessions, providing resources, and meeting with members to help them find their way and extend support on their journey to DTM.
I’ve already been able to provide some resources giving members a better idea of what’s needed to achieve their DTM. I have collaborated with the TLI team to provide “Road to DTM” sessions and plan to continue. I can provide ad hoc sessions as demand calls for.
Did you know you can email Toastmasters (educationprogram@toastmasters.org) for your DTM project after completing one full path and level 3 of a second path?
What’s required to achieve the DTM?
-
- Complete Path 1
- Complete Path 2 (different from Path 1)
- Serve as Club Officer (one year or two 6-month terms, must include Club Success Plan and TLI)
- Serve as a District Officer
- Complete a DTM Project
- Club Extension (Club Sponsor, Speechcraft, Youth Leadership)
- Club Support (Club Coach or Club Mentor)
While I am happy to talk to and work with anyone, my goal is to start with people needing their last requirements:
-
- DTM Project
- Club Extension (Club Sponsor, Speechcraft, Youth Leadership)
- Club Support (Club Coach or Club Mentor)
I am also working on building out a team to further support the members and allow for more individualized attention to anyone interested in asking questions or just going over plans at any part of their DTM journey.
It can be a conversation about trying to figure out when is reasonable to get your DTM, brainstorming ideas for your DTM project, or anything else that helps you get towards the goal of achieving your DTM.
How can I help you?

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Bob.
