Question: Calvin, what is your vision for the Speakers Bureau this year?
Answer: First, I am very excited to serve in this role because of the opportunity to build relationships and help others learn and grow professionally. There is a lot of talent in District 25. Second, I have observed that there is a need to inform Toastmasters about the opportunity to join the Speakers Bureau, market our services to organizations, and to build a foundation which is sustainable far into the future.
Question: How are you going to get the word out?
Answer: Club Visits are a crucial first step. I will visit as many Clubs as possible to spread the word about the Speakers Bureau and its advantages for their members, District 25, and the community. It’s a trifecta representing a win-win-win situation for everyone involved in the process. Contact me at SpeakersBureau@d25toastmasters.org to schedule a visit to your Club.
Question: How Can I join the Speakers Bureau?
Answer: Members of District 25 in good standing (dues are paid) who have completed either the Competent Communicator Manual or Levels 1 & 2 in Pathways are eligible to audition with a 10 minute speech. For more information, contact me at SpeakersBureau@d25toastmasters.org
