World Renowned Grand Prairie Toastmasters celebrated their 30th Anniversary Saturday June 4 at the Rio Mambo (Ballpark) Restaurant. There were about 40 people in attendance. Bascom Warden, Bob Conrad, Ron Smith and Leonard Malley, all Distinguished Toastmasters, gave speeches. It was great to see former Toastmasters and meet new Toastmasters and how well the club is doing after 30 years. We are Bold, We are Proud, We are World Renowned !

On behalf of World Renowned Grand Prairie Toastmasters I would like to welcome you to our 30th Year Anniversary celebration.

Our Anniversary celebration has also become known as our 30 – 4 – 30 event. This is because we had a dream to celebrate our 30th year anniversary with the Fabulous Four, the Four members that are still with us and that made World Renowned, World Renowned. The final 30 is our membership goal that we wish to achieve for our 30th year Anniversary.
I invite you to take a trip back in time, back to 1986. Three important things happened that year that you could consider happened by fate or by coincidence, you be the judge.
On June 1, 1986 Grand Prairie Toastmaster was chartered and our club was born. In that same year, I completed my 4 year tour of duty with the US Navy. I served on a World Renowned air craft carrier the USS Saratoga. Many of may know that in 1986 the United States World Fighter Aircrafts were the F-14 Tom Cats. That very same year Hollywood released a blockbuster Fighter Pilot movie starring Tom Cruise. Can you help me with the title of that movie? “Top Gun”
Today with the help of many Toastmaster members, we were able to reunite the Fabulous Four, World Renowned’s very own “Top Guns”.
