Oliver Cozby (Coaching, Religion, Story Telling, Training, Community Theater)

Oliver Cozby joined Toastmasters in March 1998 and has earned an Advance Leader award for each of the 7 club officer positions. He served as an Area Governor (1998-99/Select Distinguish,) a Division Governor (2002-2003/President’s Distinguish,) again as an Area Governor (2008-09/President’s Distinguished,) and as the Public Relations Officer for District 25 (2009-10.) He earned his first DTM 18 months after joining (September 1999). As Vice President of Education, he led his club to 7th place in the world among clubs under 20 members. As President, his club became the only club in North America to complete 9 goals by October, with the club finishing the year as a President’s Distinguish Club. He has given over 300 speeches in Toastmasters, plus various training modules. He has also served successfully as a Club Sponsor, a Club Mentor, a Club Specialist, and a Club Coach. He has twice completed the Toastmasters year as the top recruiter of new members in District 25 and has been recognized 7 times for recruiting 10 of more members in a single year.

Oliver Cozby also delivers speeches and presentations to non-Toastmasters audiences at work, at church, and in the community. He has been a Boy Scout Adult Leader for over 10 years and has earned several leadership awards, including Boy Scout highest adult leadership award, the Wood Badge beads. He also earned the Distinguished Unit Commissioner Service Award. He serves as a member of the BSA Speaker’s Bank and as a certified Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Church. He has taught several Lay Speaking courses, Sunday School classes and for most of 2001, he conducted a weekly worship service at a retirement home on Sunday mornings. He is currently serving the Vice President of Artisan Center Theater Board and has been a member of the Board since 2006.
