DISTRICT 25 CLUB WEBSITE CONTEST RULES
Entry requirements:
- Submit your club’s website address to the District 25 Public Relations Officer by email. The email message must include the name, address, and telephone number of the club’s webmaster, as well as the club number. chuckmencke@d25toastmsters.org
- The website must remain accessible from the time of the club’s initial entry through the judging period, or it will be disqualified.
- The website must clearly indicate which club and district are being represented, or it will be disqualified.
- Entry to the contest can be made any time between September 1 through November 1 in the fall and February 1 through April 1 in the spring.
- Where content (whether text or illustration) is reproduced from other sources, a credit line should be included.
- All entering clubs must be in good standing with Toastmasters International – dues fully paid.
Club websites are judged on the following criteria:
Content
- Does the website prominently feature the club’s name and a brief description of what it has to offer that would encourage outsiders to seek membership?
- Does the website prominently feature the club’s meeting time and location with adequate directions and/or a map?
- Does the website prominently feature contact information such as names, telephone numbers, and/or email addresses?
- Is it apparent that the website is updated regularly?
- Is content focused on achieving the club’s mission?
Readability
- Does the writing meet acceptable standards for sentence structure, spelling, punctuation, and grammar?
- Is the writing interesting and clear?
Layout and Presentation
- Does the website follow Toastmasters International’s branding guidelines on the use of logos, graphics, fonts, and colors?
- Does its layout indicate careful attention to spacing, balance, effective use of graphics, and the importance and organization of the material presented?
- Does the website’s appearance stimulate reader interest?
Judging
A committee of impartial District representatives will judge the Website Contest. All decisions are final. First, second, and third place awards will be presented at the District Conferences.
